Home Security Cameras

The home security camera options are vast. There are many sites on the Internet and a variety of catalogs that offer many different types of home surveillance equipment.

You can buy a ready-made system for a reasonable price, or have a custom-designed system that is more costly but also very effective. They can also offer advice about the best kind of system for your needs and your budget.

There are both wireless and wired options for security cameras. Most people tend to go with the wireless choice, because anyone can install them in a short amount of time and they are easy to use.

However, some people prefer the traditional CCTV option with wires to install. However, all of these types of security systems work with the equipment you already have. For instance, you can have live color images sent to your TV, or have them recorded on your VCR.

If you need additional recording time, you can always choose to go with a digital recorder, which is more expensive but also gives you a lot more latitude in how much footage you need to record.

These systems are weatherproof so that they work inside or outside, depending on your needs.

A homeowner can choose a simple camera, large or very small to mount in any place they desire.

They can also get additional security items, such as motion detectors and night vision cameras. The variety of surveillance equipment is endless, and you can monitor any area you want to.

The only factor is how much you are willing to spend on this kind of security stuff for your home.

One factor that is extremely important to consider when choosing a home security camera is camera resolution. A camera with a higher resolution will have a much clearer and sharper picture.

So paying more for a higher resolution camera makes sense in the long run because you will have the kind of quality picture you need for your home security.

Choosing a home security system does not have to be difficult or costly. Most security cameras can be installed easily and will provide you with the peace of mind you crave.

The world is not as safe as it used to be. With crime in the home on the rise, more and more people are looking at options to make their homes more safe and secure.

One option for home security that is becoming very popular is the use of home security cameras. These types of video systems can give a homeowner the sense of security and the peace of mind that they are looking for.

Now, people can record their nanny or babysitter while they are away, see who is at the door before answering it, and find out if someone is on your property without having to go outside and possibly expose themselves to harm.

This is a small example of the "pajama solutions" now available to ensure you sleep in comfort

pajama solutions

If you haven't shopped for pajamas in a while you will be surprised at the choice available out there. Gone are the days where you would only have one pair of pajamas, in cotton, with a collar and turn-ups.

In recent years pajama ranges have exploded in all sorts of ways to give you more sleeping comfort through ever-newer fabrics and cuts.

The savvy consumer can get comfort and restful sleep throughout the year, in any climate or temperature by choosing different pajamas that are available and using them in different seasons.

Most people readily buy special jackets for very cold or hot weather, but are unaware that the same advances are available for nightwear.

Cold Weather/ Winter Pajamas

One of the most useful advances in pajama design in recent years in the use of very warm fabrics for extreme cold weather.

Full fleece or double fleece pajamas give you extra warmth along with comfort in very low temperatures - great for family visits to the log cabin up north. And these brands can come with footed pants or even hoods

Less extremely warm pajamas are also made in other fabrics such as thick cotton. These keep you warm without your having to be in artic conditions like the double fleece pajama and they are suitable as comfortable winter sleep wear for the home.

Footed pajamas might not be the sexiest looking pants in the world, but they are great for sleeping comfortably. And they are the complete solution to the "cold feet and ankles syndrome" at night.

Summer Pajamas

For summer and hotter climates, silk PJs are no longer just for the rich and glamorous.

Silk is possibly the world’s best-loved cooling fabric, treasured in hot countries around the world from Italy to Japan. Certainly you should consider trying silk pajamas.

You don’t have to be rich and idle to sleep in silk and nowadays quality silk pajamas won’t cost you a fortune either.

But be warned: some people find silk pajamas almost too comfortable and relaxing.

Bernard Hopkins is the boxer who recently said: "Its hard to get up at 5am (to train) when you wear silk pajamas". Lets hope his PJs don’t damage his career.

Specialty Pajamas

There are loads of specialty pajamas being released all the time, especially for kids who have everything from Disney characters, to Barbie and Shrek. There are even flame resistant pajamas that appear in some children's lines!

There are some great specialty makes for adults too.

A good example is the new menopause pajamas recently created to serve the needs of newly menopausal women dealing with hot flashes. The special PJs work by "wicking" away moisture in the way that running clothes do.

So that's it. This is a small example of the "pajama solutions" now available to ensure you sleep in comfort.

And here’s what I’ve done. And you can do too

And here’s what I’ve done. And you can do too

Have you ever spoken at an event and they won’t allow you to give your details? Have you gone on the radio and they forget to announce where you can be contacted?

If your contact details are left out or if you’re prevented from giving information, you’ll need to play the game a little smarter.

Understand that most reporters/radio announcers/organisers are quite accomodating. They understand that you’re giving your valuable time in exchange for the publicity. But often enough you’ll run into someone who’s power drunk or whose organisation just won’t budge.

And here’s what I’ve done. And you can do too.

Refer to your product or service many times in the speech. Give an example and say how that particular example coincides with the example on Page 34 or Page 65. Or in the third CD of your 20 CD Workshop. Or the FREE Report you gave at the last event. As long as you’re making perfect sense, you will not be stopped or reprimanded. Your speech will meet the host’s guidelines, yet all the time you’re leaking out information.

By the end of the speech, you should have created enough leaks for the audience to be extremely curious. They’ll want to know about Page 34. They’ll want to know about the FREE Headline Report you gave at the last event.

As your fame grows, you may not need to do any of the above. If the organisation doesn’t allow you to give your contact details you can refuse to do the interview/speech. However when you’re starting out, you may crave the additional publicity and that’s okay.

Be sure of one thing. Don’t let your speech be random. Create leaks and watch how the audience swarms around you after the event!

One universal rule is that dogs cannot fly on a plane without the owner on board

Flying With Your Dog

A pet owner must research the many requirements before taking a dog on an airplane. Different airlines have slightly different regulations, but most airlines follow the same basic set of rules in regards to flying with a dog.

One universal rule is that dogs cannot fly on a plane without the owner on board. Each airline that was contacted for this article has a rule that outlaws flying unaccompanied dogs from one point to another. Realize that the airline considers dogs to be cargo. Just as you are not allowed to send your luggage across the country without also being present, same thing goes when it comes to your dog. The intent of each rule is slightly different (it's unlikely that a bomb would be inside of a dog), but the bottom line is that the airlines to not want to be responsible for your dog. However, if you absolutely must transport your dog without being present, you can contact a licensed and approved pet transportation company to get the job done for you.

Before you even go to the airport, you need to make an appointment with your veterinarian. All airlines mandate that every dog that boards the plane must receive a full physical examination and be tested for various diseases (rabies is their main concern) prior to boarding. Usually the airline will want the exam certificate be dated within 30 to 60 days prior to the date of the flight, so the exam you had last year will not work for a flight you plan on taking next week.

Also, be aware of weather restrictions. These might be a big inconvenience, but they are in place to ensure the safety of your pet. The cargo area on an airplane can be incredibly hot. Because of this, there are restrictions on what times of the year dogs are allowed to travel to and from certain regions. Virtually all airlines will as well enforce weather and temperature related restrictions. For instance, if the temperature in the arrival or departure city is hotter than 85 degrees Fahrenheit, pets will not be permitted on the plane. Do not argue with the airline staff, because this is for your dog's safety.

Many airlines are currently allowing pets to be transported in the cabin of the plane, as long as they can comfortably fit into the in-cabin kennel cage (usually 22” long by 9”). The price of this service varies by airline but is usually under $100.00. This is considerably cheaper in comparison to the pets flying in the cargo hold which is not as safe and which can cost upwards of $300.00 on some airlines.

When flying internationally, be aware that the customs laws of many countries prohibit the entrance of dogs across their borders. Airlines are required to comply with these laws, and in many cases your dog will not be able to join you on an international flight at all.

Wedding dresses are an expression of your personality, so don’t hold back; let your imagination run wild!

Wedding dresses are an expression of your personality, so don’t hold back; let your imagination run wild!

Wedding dresses are such an opportunity for any bride to show their unique sense of style and to really make a fashion statement. Gone are the days of the plain ‘meringue’ style wedding dresses with a little cute well-placed bow; now we are daring to be different!

In fact, one of the latest trends is to offer wedding dresses that can be used again. Not only is this a great idea from a budget point of view, but it is also reflective of the simple lines that are part of the modern trend in wedding dresses. Arguably, this fashion is due to the ever increasing age of first time brides as well as the large number of second weddings.

Wedding Dresses for the Winter Wedding

Whenever we think about wedding dresses, we automatically think of a warm, summer’s day, with a crisp, wafting white dress to match. However, there is a growing trend towards winter weddings. Winter wedding dresses may not be pure white and are often the preferred choice for second time brides.

Trends in winter wedding dresses include deep red colored dresses or dresses that include a large amount of black. Another great idea is to include a fur collar, or long fake fur coat. If you love a touch of luxury and you want something a little different, then winter wedding dresses may just be the thing for you!

Wedding Dresses for the Summer Wedding

The key to summer wedding dresses, this year, is color. Many wedding dresses are now using substantial amounts of colored fabric to add a classic touch to an otherwise traditional white or cream dress.

Weddings are becoming much more sophisticated; generally, brides will select a theme that they will maintain throughout all aspects of their wedding. Wedding dresses must, of course, fit into this theme and as such colors and accessories are vital. Popular, seasonal colors for wedding dresses include lilac, pink, blue and yellow. Often, brides will choose a half-color theme where the bodice is colored or the skirt is colored, but the other half of the dress is kept in a plain cream or white.

Subtle is the name of the game with modern wedding dresses.

Wedding Dresses – Standing Out From the Crowd

Today, wedding dresses are all different; no-one wants to look the same as the next bride and, naturally, brides go to extreme lengths to make sure that they stand out from the crowd. Of course everyone wants to do so in a classy and not trashy way! It seems that individually designed wedding dresses are the way of the future. By commissioning a made to measure dress you can make sure that it fits perfectly, is exactly what you want and above all, is unique.

Wedding dresses are an expression of your personality, so don’t hold back; let your imagination run wild!

In order to determine how much life insurance you should have, a number of factors need to be considered. For a person with family needs, these may include such things as:
  • Do you have dependants? If so, how long will they be dependant upon you?
  • Do you have children? If so, how old are they?
  • Do you want to insure your children have a post secondary education?
  • Will your household income be greatly reduced upon your death? If so, how much income do you need to replace so your family maintains their standard of living?
  • How long will you need to replace your household income?
  • What taxes may be incurred upon your death?
  • Do you need to cover debt obligations such as loans or a mortgage?
When you try to determine whether or not you can afford life insurance, think about whether or not your family can afford to be without affordable life insurance.

Our view of the world is not the only one that is correct

Our view of the world is not the only one that is correct

Why is judgment inimical? Since it is so much part of society, existing subtly, almost undetected, it appears innocuous enough.

First of all, we never know all the facts. When someone is an alcoholic, for example, it is because they are seeking to bury a deep pain. Since we don't know the story of that pain, we can't really comment on it.

Judgment also does not help the judged; and it pollutes your own free spirit. It results in gossip, slander, and, if the judger is powerful enough, in persecution.

Second, our view of the world is not the only one that is correct. For a man of one religion, the church of another is not his sacred ground. As Arthur Schopenhauer put it, “Everyone takes the limits of his own vision for the limits of the world.”

Third, it prevents forgiveness when boundaries are crossed. And resentment corrupts the person who resents, diminishing their good-will and light-heart.

More significantly, however, when we choose to judge another, there is something about ourselves that we are hiding from.

As Carl Jung expressed it, “Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to a deeper understanding of ourselves.”

The opposite of judgment is the decision to be free. Releasing judgment gives you and the other the opportunity to be free.

We have to understand that with billions of people on the planet, it's going to be remarkable to find a majority who share exactly the same values that you do.

Joan of Arc was burned at the stake because of judgment.

Jesus Christ was crucified because of judgment.

The great pogroms of the world, where millions have been tortured and killed are due to judgment.

Judgment is the energy of intolerance. When exercised fully, it leads to much suffering.

When a law court judges someone, it is not the same thing. This is a completely different meaning of the word. Evidence is collected, reason is marshaled, and decisions are made about an infraction that is based on what is fair in the eyes of the collective rule.

The judgment I refer to, the one with the sinister side, is the condemnation of another for not sharing the same values. This resentment then leads to subtle or overt expressions of hatred. Egalitarianism is often defined as equality before the law, but it may be wiser to broaden this definition to include equality to be free to be different.

Bear in mind that the bride will almost certainly wear her wedding ring alongside her engagement ring

Wedding Rings

Wedding Rings don’t tend to get the public airing that they deserve, in your average wedding celebration. However, wedding rings are likely to be worn for the rest of the bride and grooms’ living days, so they are, arguably, the most important element of the wedding accessories.

Wedding Rings – The Basics

Wedding rings are exchanged as part of the ceremony, normally as vows are said by both parties. The guests do not normally see the wedding rings until after the ceremony is well and truly over, so it can be tempting to skimp on this element and save money.

Bear in mind that the bride will almost certainly wear her wedding ring alongside her engagement ring. It is essential, therefore, that they both rings work together well. This is particularly important if the engagement ring is of an atypical shape or with a particularly large stone.

Always consider your everyday jewelry. Although it is possible to accessorize on your wedding day to complement you choice of wedding rings, this ring will be worn every day, for many years, so it must fit in well with your general style. This is equally important for the groom, as he too will have to wear the ring for some time, so he should also consider what would go well with his usual attire.

Contrary to popular belief, it is not essential to choose golden rings. If you prefer silver colored rings but want to retain the quality, why not consider white gold? It is also possible for the bride and groom to have different styles of ring, so do not feel pressured into selecting matching styled rings.

Wedding Rings – Ideas for Slashing the Budget

Whilst you want the best wedding rings possible, you do not need to spend a small fortune! Often, wedding rings are passed through the generations, particularly on the male side, so find out whether this is the case so that you can avoid the time and energy of searching for the perfect wedding rings!

When you are selecting an engagement ring, it may be possible to negotiate a discount on wedding rings, if they are purchased at the same time. Another possible option is to consider using cheaper wedding rings for the ceremony itself and to purchase the more permanent wedding rings, at a later day. The real point of this is to spread the major expenses – weddings do not come cheaply!

A great way to make cheaper wedding rings look unique is to have them engraved with your wedding date and your initials.

With a little imagination, wedding rings can truly look magical, without costing the earth!

Here are some pointers regarding saving money

Here are some pointers regarding saving money

Many people earn wages just enough to supply their basic necessities. But if you truly want to be financially secured, you have to acquire more money than what you’re spending – money that you can invest in a business or in other ventures that can propel you to financial freedom. To be able to do this, you have to start saving early in life.

Here are some pointers regarding saving money:
  1. Set a minimum amount to be saved. Savings are not meant to cover bill payments should one fall short of cash. They are intended for financial security. A little savings, in time, will become big; and it can be used as investment capital to earn more. Question: “Where will I get the cash I need should I fall short of it?” The answer: “Find other means of earning extra income, say a weekend part-time job. Any excess cash from one’s part-time job can be added to your savings.
  2. Shop only for items needed, not for products that you wanted to buy on impulse. Think first before you purchase. Don’t fall prey to bargains not needed. It is not suggested that one should starve or be in a pitiful state. As a matter of fact, one can reward himself/herself once in a while for accomplishments made.
  3. Review one’s lifestyle. Change or scale down habits that seem to be not-so-wise spending. For instance, frequent eating in restaurants which is more expensive than homemade cooking can be lessened. Taking the bus or train when possible, instead of driving one’s own car, can save on gas and parking fees. If one have to drive his/her car, try car pooling with officemates or neighbors; thereby sharing on expenses.
  4. Check your regular monthly bills on utilities like electricity, gas, water, telephone and ask oneself: “Where can I save?”
  5. It may take a while to get adjusted to a lifestyle in the “savings” mode, even to the point of “little sacrifices.” Adapt a gradual, progressive change to save to lessen the impact of adjustment from the lifestyle one used to be accustomed to.
There are more ways of starting the path to a financially secured life by making use of one’s creativity.

Remember, little things mean a lot.

I think we all know where the answer lie for why the Children of the 21st century don't laugh any more

Children of the 21st century

The good old days as I remember them were just that, the good old days. Children of the 21st century

Playing hopscotch hide and seek even a game of rounders was all in a day's fun for a thirteen year old in the good old days. Of course all good things come to an end when called in against your will and ordered up the stairs to wash behind your ears before bed, while the children of the 21st century slap on war paint to disguise their identities for approval into many disco night clubs. .

Succeeding in their mission to gain those added years they would then dance and party till dawn, while I remember back to my navy blue knickers and white vest hanging up to dry in front of an open coal fire for school the next morning.

The nature and attitude of the Children of the 21st century is so different from the days long gone. Children today have a lifestyle not a childhood, whose fault is that I ask. Where do the answers lie?

Remembering back to the words of Mother in the good old days, "There is your dinner"! Now it is "what you would like for dinner"? Another household saying of Mum's was "I can not afford that". Twenty first century mums can by doing an extra shift at work.

And in the in the good old days the threats cast upon us from Mother, threats like, are you looking for a good hiding, No I was not looking for a good hiding, but you never dared to answer back unless of course you were looking for another clout. Nowadays it is the other way round, where a great many Mothers live under threat from their own flesh and blood.

"Where do the answers lie" I ask myself once again.

Drinking was strictly for the adults in the good old days not for teens on the street corner who are not long out of nappies. Drugs in the good old days were prescribed by a Doctor not a dealer, the only dealer we knew of in those days were the ones who dealt the cards in a game of snap.

Will the Children of the 21st Century ever learn? Yes given the right teacher, that being Mummy and Daddy, then as your star pupil begins to grow up he learns to respect his/her elders, that now being Mum or Dad.

Giving into your children's needs and wants is not helping them for the big bad world out there, teach them to stand on their own two feet and if that means going back to the good old days then so be it. Which isn't so bad just to hear the laughter of children growing up in their own time.

I think we all know where the answer lie for why the Children of the 21st century don't laugh any more.

If you choose something that you don’t like doing, you’re not going to keep doing it for long

If you choose something that you don’t like doing, you’re not going to keep doing it for long

So you have to start an exercise program. What are you going to do? How are you going to exercise?

Well the type of exercise you do largely depends on you. What do you like doing? What do you hate doing? Do you have to pay membership fees? Do you need a training partner? Do you need to buy equipment?

These are all questions you need to answer.

If you choose something that you don’t like doing, you’re not going to keep doing it for long. Think about it, if you don’t like jogging you’re hardly going to keep dragging yourself out of bed at 6am, especially when winter comes around! If you can’t find something you like, just choose the thing you hate the least. This is usually walking.

Walking is great because it suits all fitness levels. Anyone can start a walking program at any time, it’s just the intensity and duration that differs. Walking is also very social. It’s not hard to find a training partner to chat to while you exercise. This also makes the time go faster.

Whatever exercise you do, starting at a low intensity and building it up over a number of weeks is essential to the longevity of your exercise program. If you start too hard you could get an over-use injury such as shin-splints, and then you’ll have to take time off to get over it.

If you are really unfit, start by walking for 10 minutes each day. Increase it by 5 minutes every 2 weeks.

To make it more interesting try walking a different course every few days. You can also roster a different friend to walk with you each day of the week.

If walking is not for you then you may like to try a fitness centre. They have loads of variety and usually have trainers on hand to answer any queries you might have. When choosing a fitness centre, make sure they give good service. If they’re not willing to treat you well before you join, then they certainly aren’t afterwards! Also make sure that their equipment is well serviced. It’s easy to find out, just listen when the machines are being used. If they squeak a lot, or make a grinding noise, then there’s a fair chance that they’re not looked after.

If you’re still not sure what you should do, then why not consider tennis or golf? There are social competitions in most areas and you may find a few new friends. Tennis is great for fitness and it’s a great social activity but it’s not for someone who is just starting out. If you haven’t exercised in a long time then you’re better off finding something a little easier.

Whatever you decide on, it must be something that you enjoy. Find that type of exercise and you’ll be well on the way to the new you!

Hectic lifestyles and sedentary jobs all contribute towards tension in the body as well as bad posture

Hectic lifestyles and sedentary jobs all contribute towards tension in the body as well as bad posture

This heading may seem like a contradiction in terms. How on earth is squeezing anything going to allow for relaxation to occur? Surely it will generate more tension, won’t it?

Well, not necessarily. Indeed, combined with focused breathing it is a great tool to alleviate stress and will help those stubborn tense muscles to let go!

It is a common affliction for many people to have unnecessary muscular tension throughout their bodies and this becomes the norm. Hectic lifestyles and sedentary jobs all contribute towards tension in the body as well as bad posture.

This being the case it may sound ludicrous to suggest creating more tension by squeezing. However, it is by initially squeezing that a wonderful physical contrast is created leaving the body feeling more tranquil. Also, once you have experienced the difference it will also encourage you to consciously become less tense and to use less energy when going about everyday tasks.

Below are some simple instructions that can be instantly used to experience how squeezing muscles and breathing in a specific way can help tension to subside!
  • Sit or stand comfortable.
  • Inhale and squeeze a muscle group.
  • Hold for a second and then, as you release this muscular tension, exhale slowly and fully.
  • Repeat this five to ten times. Note the distinction between how your muscles felt to begin with and now, after having let them relax from a contracted position.
  • Note – If you are looking for a quick way to loose tension all over your body all you need do is, from a standing position, inhale and squeeze your entire body and then on the long slow exhalation release all tension. Try this five times and feel the positive effects!
Whether you squeeze and then relax one muscle at a time or your whole body you should have the feeling of almost deflating like a balloon and loosing undue tension.

It is also worth bearing in mind there are no long periods of squeezing muscles and holding the breath! It is not required and is dangerous.

You can utilise this method whenever you feel stressed, tense, or angry and it will go a long way towards reminding you that a relaxed body is almost always better and happier than a tense one.

Give it a whirl and feel for yourself!

There are many other great gift ideas for your pets

There are many other great gift ideas for your pets

Most individuals or families view their pets as a member of the family as well. That said there is no reason why they should not be included in birthdays, Christmas or any other holiday for that matter. It’s a special day for them as well and it should be celebrated. So what are you going to get for your feline friend on their birthday? Why not consider some of these popular ideas which are sure to excite your pet on their special day:

1. Pet Carrier – Your pet will love this gift! A pet carrier is a bag large enough to allow room for you pet. Your pet then sits in the carrier while you tote them around town. Imagine how excited they would be to go everywhere and never have to walk a step. These items can cost anywhere from $20 to thousands of dollars depending on the style, make and size of the bag.

2. Pet Clothes – Just as humans like clothes for the birthdays, pets do as well. They like dressing up and they also like sweaters to keep them warm in the winter. There are many places to buy clothing for your pet and they can cost as little as $10 or as much as thousands depending on your preferences and the amount of money you are willing to spend.

3. Tasty Treats – Every pet will love the gift of food. Their favorite treats are sure to make them feel special on their birthday (or other occasion) and this can end up being a very inexpensive, yet effective, gift.

4. Pet ID Tags – These items can be personalized with their favorite designs or characters but what’s most beneficial about these gifts is that if they get lost they will be brought back to you. That would probably be the best gift they could wish for.

5. Manicure/Pedicure – I know this sounds crazy but it really isn’t. Think about how much walking your pets do on their paws. Just like we like manicures and pedicures, your pets will appreciate the special treatment as well. Keep in mind this will only work for animals with paws and most likely is only best for those of female nature.

There are many other great gift ideas for your pets. It’s up to you to decide which is best for them but also within your budget. Many individuals spend unreasonable amounts on gifts for their pets but you really don’t need anything extravagant, just something small to let them know you care. In the end it’s the thought that counts…not the price tag.
