Love as a bridge of education

If the previous five pages talked about foundations, roots, wings, and light, then this conclusion presents another symbol: the bridge.

A bridge is a connection, something that allows a child to pass from childhood to the future.

Without a bridge, the river of life feels too swift. With a bridge, a child's small steps become a grand journey.

🌿 Love as a Spiritual Bridge i

Spiritual love is a bridge that connects children to inner peace.

Simple prayers, sincere examples, and gentle hugs become a sturdy wooden board.

Children pass through with a sense of security, discovering that life is not just effort, but also hope.

A spirituality that grows in love makes a child rooted in the belief that he is enough and will always be looked after.

🌱 Compassion as a Physical Bridge

Physical affection is the bridge that connects children to a healthy body.

A colorful diet, adequate sleep, and joyful movement are the strings that hold the bridge together.

The child walks with light steps, discovering that the body is the soul's friend.

A body that is cared for with love makes a child ready to face the world, not easily fragile, and always flexible in facing challenges.

🌸 Compassion as a Mental Bridge

Mental affection is a bridge that connects children with courage.

A safe space to fail, an opportunity to rise, and a comforting hug are the pillars that support the bridge.

Children walk with confidence, discovering that mistakes are not the end, failure is not a disgrace, and they are still valuable.

A mentality that grows in love makes a child flexible, brave in facing storms, and still believes in the light.

🌺 Compassion as a Bridge of Character

Affection in character is a bridge that connects the child to the roots of personality.

Consistent role models, clear boundaries, and gentleness that fosters empathy are a safe path to follow.

Children pass with a mature attitude, discovering that responsibility is not a burden, but an honor.

A character that grows in love makes a child stand tall, ready to shade the world with his tree of life.

Cover

Love is not just a foundation, not just a root, not just a wing, not just a light.

It is the bridge that unites everything. The bridge that allows children to cross from childhood to the future.

The bridge that turns small steps into big journeys.

  • Love is a bridge.
  • The bridge that connects children to the future,
  • The bridge that makes life a meaningful journey .”

Most fevers are the result of a child's body fighting off an infection of some sort

Most fevers are the result of a child's body fighting off an infection of some sort

Sooner or later, your new baby will develop a fever. It would be a rare child who does not come down with some kind of illness that elevates their temperature. Babies can get fevers for a variety of reasons, and understanding the whys, can help you determine if you should call your doctor.

On a warm day, and over-dressed baby, particularly an active or squirmy one, can become flushed and hot. When their temperature is taken it is up. The first thing to do is remove some of the clothing, and place the child in a cool spot to rest or play quietly. Take their temperature again in 20-30 minutes, if there are no signs that their distress is increasing. Chances are, it will be headed back towards normal. Sometimes just a very active play session in hot weather, can make a toddler's temperature go up, and the cure is the same: remove some clothes, and cool down by taking a break.

Most fevers are the result of a child's body fighting off an infection of some sort. As white blood cells become active and mount a defense, their temperature will rise, and they may develop other symptoms, including coughing, excessive crying, restlessness, listlessness, lack of appetite, unwillingness to drink, diarrhea and vomiting. But occasionally, fever is the only symptom, and many times, it does not seem to interfere with their activities or behavior.

Generally speaking, a child with a fever, who has other symptoms of distress like vomiting, diarrhea, and excessive crying, may have an illness that requires medical attention. Take their temperature, and call your pediatrician with the results. Be prepared to give them a list of the symptoms. They may ask that you administer a fever-reducing medication such as acetaminophen, or if they are over six months of age, ibuprofen. It is best not to administer these on your own, if the child becomes ill suddenly, as the doctor may want to assess their condition without some of the symptoms being masked.

In addition to the medication, you can sponge your baby off in the tub, with lukewarm water, running it over their whole body and head. If the doctor has asked that you call them back after a specified time lapse, be sure that you take note of any changes in their condition.

A rule of thumb for calling the doctor, is for infants under three months, the temperature should be above 100F, and if they are over three months, a temperature of over 101F. Often times, the more obvious illnesses like flu, with a temperature and vomiting, are easier to diagnose than a temperature with no other symptoms.

I think we all know where the answer lie for why the Children of the 21st century don't laugh any more

Children of the 21st century

The good old days as I remember them were just that, the good old days. Children of the 21st century

Playing hopscotch hide and seek even a game of rounders was all in a day's fun for a thirteen year old in the good old days. Of course all good things come to an end when called in against your will and ordered up the stairs to wash behind your ears before bed, while the children of the 21st century slap on war paint to disguise their identities for approval into many disco night clubs. .

Succeeding in their mission to gain those added years they would then dance and party till dawn, while I remember back to my navy blue knickers and white vest hanging up to dry in front of an open coal fire for school the next morning.

The nature and attitude of the Children of the 21st century is so different from the days long gone. Children today have a lifestyle not a childhood, whose fault is that I ask. Where do the answers lie?

Remembering back to the words of Mother in the good old days, "There is your dinner"! Now it is "what you would like for dinner"? Another household saying of Mum's was "I can not afford that". Twenty first century mums can by doing an extra shift at work.

And in the in the good old days the threats cast upon us from Mother, threats like, are you looking for a good hiding, No I was not looking for a good hiding, but you never dared to answer back unless of course you were looking for another clout. Nowadays it is the other way round, where a great many Mothers live under threat from their own flesh and blood.

"Where do the answers lie" I ask myself once again.

Drinking was strictly for the adults in the good old days not for teens on the street corner who are not long out of nappies. Drugs in the good old days were prescribed by a Doctor not a dealer, the only dealer we knew of in those days were the ones who dealt the cards in a game of snap.

Will the Children of the 21st Century ever learn? Yes given the right teacher, that being Mummy and Daddy, then as your star pupil begins to grow up he learns to respect his/her elders, that now being Mum or Dad.

Giving into your children's needs and wants is not helping them for the big bad world out there, teach them to stand on their own two feet and if that means going back to the good old days then so be it. Which isn't so bad just to hear the laughter of children growing up in their own time.

I think we all know where the answer lie for why the Children of the 21st century don't laugh any more.

Kids love to run and jump all over the place

Kids love to run and jump all over the place

Sally is ready to join the basketball team this year. You encourage her, tell her to practice everyday, and even join in on the team's fundraising efforts. As adults we know the positive health benefits that come with exercise and strength training. These exact same benefits can be applied to children as well.

Building a safe and effective weight training routine for Sally is easier than one may think. The program should include the use of light free weights, an exercise for each muscle group, and a proper warm up and cool down. Let's not forget the ultimate goal of having fun!

Kids love to run and jump all over the place. Encourage that playfulness while working on strength training programs as well. Be sure to focus on proper form and technique and not on physique or bulking up.

Children you have not yet gone through puberty should not even consider adding lean muscle mass to their bodies. Save that goal for a later date. Just let your children have fun and experience strength training in a fun and positive environment.

Check with your doctor before starting any exercise program. Before you know it, Sally will have better grades, better games, better self-esteem and a healthier life. Remember you may be Sally's biggest role model.
